Dabbing

The process of heating and inhaling concentrates or extracts

Benefits

  • Cleaner
  • Stronger
  • Fast Acting

How to Dab

  1. A torch heats up the nail or banger
  2. Places a small dose of concentrate or extract on a Dabbaer
  3. Dabs this on the heated nail or banger.
  4. Place the carb cap over the nail or banger to regulate airflow.
  5. The vapour that is formed then inhaled through the Dab rig.

Tips

  • When heating the banger/nail, it is important to heat but not to the point where the entire banger/nail turns red
  • You want to dab temperature to be between 540-575°F
  • Let the banger/nail cool to lower temperates before dropping your concentrate or extract
  • Let your banger/nail cool for as long as you heated it.

Concentrates & Extracts

THC Levels can be between 40% to 80%

  • Keif
  • Hash
  • Bubble hash
  • Hash Rosin
  • Live Resin
  • Budder  Crumble
  • Honeycomb
  • Shatter  Wax

Dab Equipment

Banger

Made of quartz it fits into a dab rig and is where extracts or concentrates are placed for inhalation

Carb Cap

Placed on top of a hot banger/nail after the dab is dropped in to regulate airflow

Dabber

Used to move around concentrates or extracts

Dab mat

Goes under your rig or dab container

Dab Rig

A water pipe that cools vapors, works like a bong

Electronic Nail

A consistent adjustable heat source that keeps nails at a constant temperature

Oil Reclaimer

Collects leftover oils that were not used inside of the dab rig.

Nail

Made of metal it fits into a dab rig and is where extracts or concentrates are placed for inhalation

Nectar collector

A portable dab rig that is shaped like a straw, by heating the tip and placing it in concentrates and extracts

Silicone container

Stores concentrates or extracts

Torch

Provide consistent heat

Different Styles of Bongs

  • Beaker
  • Bubbler
  • Egg
  • Homemade
  • Multi-chamber
  • Percolator
  • Recycler
  • Round base
  • Straight tube
  • Zig zag

Materials used to make Bongs

  • Acrylic
  • Ceramic
  • Glass
  • Metal
  • Silicone

Glass is the best because it makes the cleanest smoke

Gravity Bong

A water pipe that forces smoke directly into your lungs by using air pressure and water

Types of Gravity Bongs

  • Waterfall-A container with a bowl and a hole at the bottom, Plug hole and fill with water, pack bowl and pull plug, hit bong
  • Bucket-Two containers, larger container cut at top and filled with water, smaller has bowl and bottom cut, Lower smaller container into larger container, Pack bowl and pull up, remove bowl and push down while hitting
  • Lung-Similar to bucket and waterfall but uses air and bags instead of water

Glass Thickness

Glass Thickness

Glass Thickness

Try to get the thickest glass you can, Glass starts at 2mm and goes up to 7mm. Could be the different between being fine or a break when dropped

Glass Length

Glass Thickness

Glass Thickness

  • Small bongs are good for traveling and being hidden away. But harder to clean and airflow isn’t great
  • Mid size bongs are the best for every day use or beginners, easy to clear camber, clean, and travel
  • Larger bongs have better airflow but are harder to hide, travel with, and cleaning takes longer

Downstems

Glass Thickness

Downstems

When picking a downstem you need to consider Joint size and length. The length of the downstem shouldn’t be too short to reach the water or too long to even fit in. It’s should sit in the water but not touch the bottom. If Downstem is too long, it can create poor airflow, and if it’s too short, water could go up through the downstem and soak your cannabis. Joint size should be a 14mm or 18mm

Gender

Joint/Slides

Downstems

Most bongs are female allowing the bowl to slide into the bong. It’s easier to find parts for female bongs

Joint/Slides

Joint/Slides

Joint/Slides

Two of the most common sizes of  bong joints, downstems, and slides are 14mm and 18mm. Stick with most common to make finding replacement parts easier

Water Test

Joint/Slides

Joint/Slides

You can pour water into a bong to test the pull of the bong, check for leaks in connections, as well as feel how heavy it will be when filled

Tips

  • Can use a penny to find out the size of your bong, a penny will slide part way into a 18mm joint but not a 14mm joint.
  • Change the water frequently to keep the bong clean
  • Take apart bong and wrap each piece individual when traveling
  • Adding more cambers will make it harder to clear out all the smoke
  • If you don’t 100% love the bong don’t buy it, you’ll know when you find the right one
  • Use distilled water in bong, won’t leave as much minerals behind and stay clear longer

The 9 Smoke Pull Factors

  • Length - If too long it will be harder to pull, if too wide it pull easy but will be costly, Length and width also have to be balanced with each other.
  • Thickness - effects how much oxygen can get through the wrap, bigger is better but cost more
  • Tightness•Make sure not to roll it too tight as this makes it really hard to pull but burns longer, rolling it to loose will cause it to burn faster and be at a higher risk of falling apart but will pull alright. You want to find the perfect balance between the two.
  • Shape •By making more of a cone shape you can increase the burn point and can funnel pull to a smaller spot.
  • Pathways•Splitting the pathways into 2 will cut the pull in about half, splitting into 3 pathways will cut the pull in about thirds and etc. You need to pull way harder when you add more pathways, unless you have multiple burn points to increase pull
  • Holes•Beware of stems making holes, this causes a huge drop in pull as air will rush in from the hole.
  • Moisture•If the wrap or buds are too wet their won’t burn evenly or constantly, if too dry it will be too fast and be harsher. You want to find the perfect balance
  • Bends- The pull gets cut for every bend or connection you make. 20 degree bend cuts flow by about 10%, 45 degree bend cuts flow by about 25%, 90 degree bend cuts flow by about 50%
  • Lung factor  Lung Size, Heath, Tolerance, Strength

Problems you might run into

Problems you might run into

Problems you might run into

  • Uneven Burn- wet the side that is burning faster then the other
  • Hole in blunt - use extra scraps to patch the hole
  • Won’t stay lit- Take a straight out paper clip and stab through to open up the airway
  • Too tight- loosen up by gently rubbing it between fingers, or stab a paper clip to open airway
  • Too Lose/Limp/Falling Apart- put out and re-roll tighter
  • Too Wet  -  you can use a lighter or heat source to dry off making sure not to get it to hot
  • Too dry- you can lick the outside of the wrap to add moisture to it

Burning Cherry Ratio

Problems you might run into

Is a simplified model for understanding the necessary components for fire.

  • Heat
  • Fuel
  • Oxygen

A fire naturally occurs when the elements are present and combined in the right ratio

Rolling Tips

Problems you might run into

Types of Rolling Papers

  • Keep extra scraps around and Use the extra scapes to make sure connections and bends are sealed tight
  • You can tear the wrap a little into 3 sections to make it easier to seal the wrap to the right tightness
  • You can use long thin objects to pack buds that fell out back into the wrap
  • Rolling on a surface is easier then rolling in the air
  • If you don’t have a knife to cut cigar you can use your finger nail to cut a tear at the end then gently push down on both sides of the rip and guide the tear down the cigar
  • Practice makes perfect, try rolling cheap cigars and their guts before trying it out with cannabis wraps
  • Cones are easy to fill if you are looking for a easier way to roll

Types of Rolling Papers

Types of Rolling Papers

Types of Rolling Papers

  • Hemp papers - most organic type because no dyes are used
  • Rice papers - some of the most common type of papers
  • Flax papers - old school way still used today
  • Wood pulp papers - “are the worst, if you see one run”

Types of Tobacco Wraps

Types of Rolling Papers

Types of Tobacco Wraps

  • Cigars - tobacco leaf that has tobacco stuffed inside
  • Tobacco Wraps - Tobacco that has been processed for rolling up cannabis
  • Fontno leafs - all natural Tobacco with nothing done to it
  • Hemp warps - Made of hemp and the better choice for you
